I got this from the big auction site and it's a dandy. It has two holes on back of bow that were drilled for sight, but those can be filled. No stress lines whatsoever and a nice piece of wood in the riser. I'm contemplating refinishing to get rid of the yellowing, but the finish is in good shape.  It looks like there was a 5 line rest on it based on the shape and size.  The coin has a little black paint left, but it looks like it lost most of it. And wow, does it zip an arrow!  Brace looks a tad high and anyone with knowledge of proper heigth I'd gladly accept advice. This very well could be the turkey bow for the spring hunt.

It's interesting how the grip is shaped in this bow.  Below the rest, it feels like a longbow grip, but on the top of the hand it's like a recurve.

Nick, I don't recall any tricks in bow restoration 101 about restoring black to coins (I think that's what this was??). Do you know of any tricks if I go down that road(I'm still weighing in on whether to refinish or not)?

Ray,
Try polishing it with some Meguiar's Cleaner Car Wax , looks like it came from a smokers home...Bob York makes the correct arrow side plate .. yorkmail@yahoo.com

Thank's for the tips!

I'm thinking the discoloration is just the finish, similar to this 1971 Super K that I refinished last summer:

Other than messing up on the lettering size, I was pretty happy with the outcome.
