Been reading some old 40's and 50's Archery Magazines during this current snow storm that we are having.

Found this to be interesting and amazing.

The NFAA championship was held in Grayling, Michigan in 1958 on a Army base.  In setting this up the course engineer had to lay out and set up 22 archery courses consisting of 28 targets per course.  He estimated that to be 7 1/2 miles of shooting distance (he referred to it as arrow flight) with an average of 560 yards per course.

There were 2000 archers participating.

This event was headed up by Fred Bear.

There were many winners in many divisions in both barebow and freestyle from adults to kids.
