I picked up a bow tonight. I am pretty sure its a 1960 Kodiak. I am pretty elated since I had been looking for one for a long time. ended up driving an hour and 20 minutes tonight. The guy had it listed as a 1953 kodiak, his picture told me otherwise    :readit:      :goldtooth:

It is 60", is that common?  I thought they were usually a little longer?

I'll post Pictures when I have time.

Yes, many are 60"; they came in 3 lengths: 56", 60", and 64". You got a pic for us?

I will have pictures for you once I get home with enough light to get outside pictures.

Thank you for the input.

I had been looking for one of these bows (59-62) for 3 years.  My Goal was to find one for sale either through a  garage sale or local listing/auction!  This was a local listing and the guy (very nice) was aging and had health issues. he was using a compound and was just granted a permit for an X bow due to his health issues.

I'm still on cloud 9.

Now comes the decision on wether to refinish or not,. IMHO its a good problem to have.  ;)

Nickel/silver coin.

I wouldn't refinish it.

That's a beauty.

Nice bow!  Will clean up to be a really special one!  In my estimation, the '60 Kodiak is the best Bear ever.  And, 60" is the best length.  A lot of us would go a long way for that bow.  Good for you.

Charlie - I agree with Daryl.....this one should not be refinished.  Pretty nice shape.

You can try what I recommended in the email on the limbs.

Congrats again......great bow.
