I just picked up a Kodiak Hunter with this quiver on it.


Wondering what year the quiver is please.
I will clean up the bow and quiver today and post some clean pictures.

Chuck, I think it's from the late 1950's I had one same style, but was a tape on,Not a spring arm... Mine was like I say from the later 50's Sweet bow by the way...

Is that quiver mounted correctly?

The quiver was in production from 1963 to 1971. It is mounted wrong.
Your picture does show the 4th arrow in place. So many people say this is a 3 arrow quiver.
This picture is of an 8 arrow, but they mount the same way.

 

Thanks for the info and the pic Ron. I have tried to post a pic of me holding the bow with quiver on both ways(right and wrong) but phto bucket is buggered up.

The wrong way seems to set the quiver back into the bow a tad further.
I will get it cleaned up and post some pics.
I think it may hit the classifieds soon.

This is how the quiver sets as mounted now. I would have to shoot it this way to see if it worked or not,I can't see why it wouldn't. I have not used a spring arm quiver or a bow quiver in 15+ years so maybe.
 

The top arm is not attached correctly.  The little turn down at the very end is what keeps the quiver from sliding off.

The top crossbar should be on the bow's belly and the next crossbar should be on the bow's back.

I showed the picture of the proper attachment. The bottom arm is not correct either. On the bottom arm the little hook on the end of the arm goes toward the belly side of the bow. This is to provide ease of sliding the arm onto the limb-not retention as the top hook is designed.

I fliped it like you showed it Ron, it sits real close to my hand now.

I have to look at pics of Fread Bear with his bow in my books before I put my quiver on.So I get it right.

Two Tracks, that quiver is mounted wrong. Take a look at raghorns photo. That's the correct way to put on either the 4 or 8 arrow spring arm quivers.

Hi Chuck, I just had a chance to look at my Bear Archery Cataloge CD. They did not make the brown 4 arrow spring arm quiver untill 1966. The 4 arrow quivers before that were screw on or tape on. The CD from 3 rivers is worth the money for dating stuff and finding out what materials were used in bows of that era.

The leathertop 4 arrow spring arm quiver actually shows up on page 18 of the 1965 Bear Archery Catalog.

I have the same quiver. This summer the rubber grippers holding the 4th arrow finally cracked. Three Rivers Archery actually has replacement grippers. Easy to replace.
