My friend who brought over the longbow in my other post also had this Bear. He wants to keep it to shoot. I did some looking on here and think it's a '76,not sure though.
Green riser and limb tips and green glass.
Serial#= KT58160  AMO 60" 45X#
I remember reading that the X meant that it wasn't the marked draw weight?
It's in decent shape, has a sight mounted on the back of the riser though.
He wanted to know if it would be worth the money to have it restored.Would the value of it afterwords warrant getting it done? I told him I had no idea, but knew where to ask! Thanks.

Big Bird

Its a 73 to 75.the x means more than 45 pounds, look where the strike plate should be. and the true weight will be wrote there.

Goshawkin

Ok, 73-75 because of the white overlays on the riser? I can just make out some red ink where the strike plate would be,I believe it says 46,thank you.
Any collector interest in this year to make a refinish worth it? or just shoot it as is?

reddogge

Unfortunately it's been drilled so collector value is compromised and it's really not a super valuable bow to begin with. I'd just shoot it.

Kind of what I thought.Pretty handsome bow,I think he may get it refinished anyway. Thanks.

The sight is mounted on the belly/face of the riser.
The back is the side away from the shooter.

Lots of guys love these green KHs as shooters/hunters.

I say congrats!!  Fill the holes and fire away!

Looks like a fine bow to me at a great weight.

Sights are a large part of archery history most collectors try to avoid.  That makes for some great bows at reasonable prices if you just want a great shooting old bow.
