I have read a few brief descriptions of the arrows Hill used on elephant does anyone on here have any good photos of them? I also read that the nocks were red 5/16 Bear Archery index nocks and the aluminum shaft was not swaged at the nock but a austed? insert nock taper. I have read several shaft sizes as well 2024, 2219, and 2040. Anything conclusive. I would like to see some of these nocks and have a couple as well. Thanks for replies. Flint

Thanks for the photos. I know he had 6 long shank and 6 short shank elephant heads. That one is of the short shank heads. TTT

I saw a quiver like that at Kalamazoo this year.
It was at Mr.Burtons display. I don't remember the floral design but it did have that cool,Hollywood type script on it. Very cool indeed.

Hink,
I am just wondering if more than one of them fancy quivers is floating around. The one I saw in KZOO was said to be Howards exibition quiver. I think the one above would fit that bill.

Did you notice the floral print on the quiver at KZOO?

Chuck...not sure of a match...maybe Bob can post here and give is thoughts on the quivers...just looked at Bob's Book and the quiver and arrow looks to be the same as in the book. Rub marks on the arrow shaft and damage at the top of the quiver and its wrote in the book as part of Howard Hills Archery collection, maybe there on loan ?   :dunno:   just saying , must be a story here...     Hink

Here is the display that Bob Burton did at the Collectors show at Cabelas in 2010. This was the first time some of this stuff was on public display. Some of these items were on loan to Bob just for this show. The floral quiver is seen next to the buckskins. This is the same quiver as in the previous post. I believe the quiver along with the arrows belongs to Craig Ekin and the previous pics were taken in his shop. I hope that Bob pops in here to verify this or correct me.

Sorry for not responding quicker, but been away with work.
I took these photographs when I visited Craig at Howard Hill, in 2006.
I was amazed at his generosity, it was no problem at all for him to show Howard's equipment. The Elephant arrow and quiver I handled, along with a couple of Howard's personal bows.
What really suprised me was how small the buckskins were that Howard wore during the filming of the Last Wilderness.
