I acquired some arrows I thought were interesting.  They are bamboo, footed and tapered.  The broadheads are 1959 Bears.  This is the first time I have incountered arrows like these, just thought I would share and see if anyone has seen any like them.

I saw those on ****.  The seller said they were bamboo. Do you believe they are bamboo?
The broadheads are either 1956 or 1957 Bear Razorheads. Do the bleeder  blades have a round hole in the front? Hard to tell with these small pictures. To my limited knowledge Bear didn't have a footed arrow. They almost look like Pearson arrows, but never seen fletch that short on Pearson arrows.

I can't see the nodes in those pictures.  Do you have a better one that shows the nodes?

Pack animal

Hello Heere are a couple other shots.
besides the nodes there are also a couple of places where the outer skin has split...so yes I am pretty sure they are bamboo..
Raghorn yes the bleeders have the round hole.  Given the shape of the vent I thought these were 1959?  I thought the predecesor of the 59 was the 56 bubblehead?

Sal

Thanks, for a minute there I thought they were split bamboo, like a mini fishing rod.

Since the nodes are lined up, I'll venture to say they're made in Japan.

The nock, feather cut and footing look a lot like some Rounsevelle Rhom (Indiana) arrows I have. The footing-is it 3 foot?

Very special arrows for sure and the footing is different too-the surfaces are short compared to many others. Great find!

Hipshot

Those are great looking arrows. Are footed arrows made for looks are does it have another purpose?

Several years ago the ABCC had a 1959 Bear razorhead listed. That listing was revised to show the same head as a 1957. See pictures below. The bleeder with the hole was usually found with the 1956 head as that was the first bleeder. Next run of blades the hole was gone and the blades were black. Are your photos from a cell phone?

Pack animal

Thanks raghorn; the heads are 57s then.  Yes I took the pictures with my cell.
