I don't think this one is that old, but I don't know much about Damon Howatt's.  Can anyone approximate the year?  I can say it shoots very well.  Thank you!

Pictures seem to load OK for me, but they are a bit fuzzy.  I will replace them tonight.  I apologize for this.

It's black glass front and back, reddish wood, straight accent lines the length of the riser (two small parallel lines comprised of lighter wood, looks like maple??)  Serial # HH1396.

I am pretty sure this is a newer bow, but am curious.  I just don't know much about Howatt's but the way this one shoots I think I may start learning more.

From the serial number, and without the harder "dished" cut out of earlier ones on the belly side of the riser/sight window and the over all shape of the riser, and wood appearance......Id call it a 1973.

But do NOT know much about 80s versions.

Am sure more knowledgeable will show up with distinct stats but this is how I recall them and have had several versions.

I believe the 1973 had the curved stripe in the riser, but I cannot say for sure what year your bow was born.    :dunno:

Thanks for looking folks.  I posted new/better pics up top.  I also found this thread:

Perhaps this is a 1981, 1991, 2001??

You ARE right on the curved stripe Blackhawk........another thing that fell through the memory cogs.

Thanks for reminding me.

So.....ok, fine, NO CLUE. lol

Mighta changed things over the years but the old ones, Larry Hatfield told me the first digit was the bowyer that made it. Each had a number and I had one he himself had made and how he knew it.

Quite possibly that changed when the more mass producing started and each bowyer didnt make one from start to finish like the earlier ones.??

Wish this info was confirmed or not from Martin now........na, that would make it too easy.

LOL

God Bless
Nice bow regardless. Never shot a DH that wasnt a hummer!

That looks to be an 1981 or 91 model.  It also looks like the handwriting has been redone at some point.  I have replacement decals should you need them for the "Hunter".  Larry or Howattman can confirm the year since they are the true experts.  Nice looking bow for certain!  Hunters are awesome, I have 5 of them!!

Thanks for the input Dave.  I could not see where someone had refinished the bow in anyway, but like I said, I am not a Howatt expert.
