I'm in the process of lowering the shelf on a 70' Grizzly.  If I remember correctly, BD had pics on how to do it.  Shared pics would be appreciated.

You're correct there's a thread that Bowdoc has here on TG that shows the process in detail.  Meanwhile, here's one of Bowdoc's Kodiaks w/ Fred's grip.  Also a '69 Super K that I modified to that type of grip & refininished.

I don't know if this is a "Fred's grip", but is certainly is a contender.  I posted this while back wondering about the difference between the two.

I hope not to get busted and will repost if told to. But before anyone has a 62 Kodiak modified to Fred's grip I would like to talk to them first. I would like to have one without the modification. By the way Bowdoc did this one.

I posted pics of this a while back, wondering if anyone had seen that much variation in factory grips-because as near as I can tell, it has never been messed with, and the serial numbers are within a couple hundred of each other.

Although the picture makes it look thinner, I measured a number of points with a caliper and they are all very similar(less than 1/32")on both bows, with the exception of the lowered shelf.
