I was wondering if some of you broadhead collectors could tell me anything about these old Pearsons??
The package says Ben Pearson Quality Broadheads
but the ferrel says Hilbre. Made in Pine Bluff, Arkansas.
I have no idea what that means. Not looking to sell, just like some info if anybody knows anything.

Look at the price marked $1.50
Wow, I can't remember back that far when you could buy any broadhead for .50 cents a piece!

Thanks!

Arrowmates made in Milwaukee, Wisc.
Hilbres made in Chatham, New Jersey
Very common heads.

I don't know the why but you will find different brand broadheads in other manufacturer's packages    :dunno:

Your Hilbre's were first made in 1966. The same ferrule was used with different sized main blades. The heads weighed 112gr, 140gr and 164gr.

The package of broadheads on the left look like arrowmates.

Yes you are correct. I found the symbol on one of them in 1 package, I'm sure the other 2 had them also but 2 of the heads had been mounted previously and the symbol is barely noticeable. The other package says Hilbre on the ferrule.

So I guess these were packaged as Pearson broadheads, but they are actually a different brand? Hmmmm........interesting.
Thanks for the info.

That seems to have been part of Pearson's marketing plan after Ben passed. They put a lot of "stuff" in their packages that they didn't make.

Martin,Truflite, and PSE also did the same.Bear sold Zwickey broadheads and Ma-3.

SEMO_HUNTER

Pretty misleading and disappointing that the package says Pearson broadheads and what I got is Hilbre and Arrowmates. That ain't too funny.

Here's one that I would really like to find. I believe that is a Ben Pearson broadhead.

I'd like to have some of those dead heads to hunt with, but those are like finding real flint arrowheads..........very rare.

Woodsman Elite, Kustom King Trailmaker, Red Feather Phoenix,Big Jim-all these broadheads are sold by the above named companies but are made by VPA. Butterfield Brutes were sold by Martin and PSE.
Cell phones made by Motorola have Verizon marked on them.
So why is it disappointing the Arrowmates and Hilbres are in Pearson packaging?

SEMO_HUNTER

Because I thought they would at least be something with the Ben Pearson name on them since the package says Ben Pearson broadheads.

Example: Magnus Snuffers, Magnus Stingers, Magnus Bullheads, ect.

It just seems like getting a package that says Satellite broadheads and there's Muzzy broadheads in the package. That's the only thing I was trying to say.

broadheads are like a box of well you know where this is headed you never know whats inside until you open the box bd

I think it must have been pretty common to "rebrand" what ever they thought would sell, or whatever they could get at a low price.  Marketing....

I'm no collecting guru as you all know, but those look like Bear Greenies to me? Am I correct?

Bear did not make a broadheads called "greenies" any more than Magnus making a braodhead called "maggie" nor does Simmons make one called a "sharkie"
Bear  did make, for many years, a broadhead named Razorhead which a pictured above and named on the box end.

SEMO_HUNTER

Please excuse my lack of correct terminology, it was just a slang name that some people call them.
