Anyone else got one bow for mule deer and another for whitetails. The KS 42# is my mule deer bow and the new to me this week Polar 40# is now my official whitetail bow. They shoot Easton Epic 500's remarkably the same.
I set out a while ago to reduce my herd of 40 bows...And I am finally down to 42

I'm hoping to see successful pictures of both!

I don't have one specifically for mule deer. I had one I could have used but somebody else is using it for that now.

Good hunting!

Thanks,Jack.

I deleted the info on the Polar so I can't remember.
Do you consider it to be a 1963 or a 1964 model? It sure feels the same in the grip as the 63 KS.

These old 66 inch bows may not be the best for hunting, but they sure are the best for shooting.
Like I learned in my IBEP course back in the mid 90's; archer first, bow hunter second. I am afraid there are a lot of wheelie bow shooters these days who have entirely missed that concept.

Good hunting to you as well,

DDave

Dave,

I believe it is a 64 but I'm not certain. It is identical to the 65 I still have.

Probably Jeremy or someone else more knowledgeable with Polars would know how to tell for sure.

Hi Dave
Nice picture but how about a close up detailed one of both bows. I always enjoy eye candy.....

Right now they are at work so they do not want to have any fancy pictures taken. They are playing nicely together while I am sleeping and they are all ready to go in the morning. Do not want to spoil them by letting them sleep in a warm house.

Took the Polar for a little whitetail tour this afternoon, but the boys were just a little jumpier than I had hoped. The wind was almost non existent so I could not really hunt into or across the wind like I usually do. When I came back to the road there were three deep running buck tracks clearly visible in the soft gravel. I talked to the grader operator yesterday to see if maybe he could grade that road once a day, but he said he would likely get in trouble for that.

Three bucks running together tells me that the rut is still to come, so things will get easier.

Just wish I could locate my herd of muley does and fawns.

Here are some pics of the tracks of two of the deer. The other one was similar.

Sorry too much time in the fresh air and turkey supper. Kind of out of it. Will try again tomorrow.

Of course it is not a 65 because the serial number does not begin with a 5.

You will notice that the mulie bow is on top today. I had it out chasing mule deer this morning.

If you click on the thumbnail you will get a bigger picture. Think I finally figured out how to do this.

I would have some nice live deer pictures to add if I had put the picture card back in my camera.

Here are some of the mulies I am hunting with the KS.

And some of the whitetails too.

When I hunt whitetails this week I will of course use the Polar.

Forgot to post the good pics of the bows. Here they are:

Just checked the Polar yesterday and it pulls 47 pounds at my 30 inch draw. The KS only pulls 45 so starting today I will reverse the assignments, the KS will be my whitetail bow and the Polar will go with me when mule deer are the target.
