I came across a Wing Presentation Hunter 2 take down this weekend for $    150.00 and passed on it. It had the black Formica riser with white limbs and wood tips at 45lb @28". Had the case too. The guy said it was shot very little, still had the Wing feather rest and original string. Did I blow it by not picking it up? The riser was very heavy.

The most important part of your hunting setup is the broadhead.  The rest is just the delivery system.

That should be an easy $300 bow. Try to get it.

I am new to this collector bow thing. I just buy them to shoot. When I picked up the riser, my thought was "my God I could never drag this heavy thing around all day". So I passed on it. I guess I should have bought it if I was into re-selling. Never shot a Wing before. It was weird looking with the black shiny riser. I even told the guy the deer would pick me out in a second.[Hey... what's that big black shiny thing over there?]

That bow is a great shooter.  You would have liked it.

It is also a collector bow.

When it comes to collecting, I don't think about it as a "collector bow", or what I can sell it for.  I only buy bows that I like....don't worry about what others like.  I don't buy them to sell.  If I have something in my collection that someone wants, the price is set by what it cost me including shipping, plus some profit, and they pay shipping.  I will not loose money or break even.  If my price is too high for them, they will find something else.  If they want mine, they meet my price.  Now I am not out to make a killing on anyone, amd I have sold bows that I really didn't want to sell, but if someone really wants it, I'll let it go.

Don't let making a profit be your primary consideration.  Getting bows you like should be.

This is a hobby, not a living.

Amen Jack.
Isn't that Wing also a target bow?

Nothing wrong with buying something for a good deal, playing with it for a few years, and then selling it for more than you paid. There are those in the business who buy many bows for the sole purpose of making money, that's not my cup of tea.

These Wing P2s were made in different lengths and a lot were longer target bows.

I have had some of the most collectable bows out there. You name them 57,59,60,62,64,65,66 Kodiaks 68,69,70,71,72,74 Super Kodiaks, an A-wood riser,a B-wood riser,a couple A-mag handles.Jack Howard Gamemaster Jet,Classic, and a Hunter (Howatt),the Black Widow HF Jim mentioned, countless "other" bows including quite a few custom made ones.

In the end they're just tools that if they aren't being used I turn them over to someone who will use them.I enjoy the "hunt" for old bows and like to have a full bow rack but, sooner or later I grow tired of having bows laying around collecting dust. Then it's time to clean'em up and turn'em loose. Then the process starts all over again.

It's been ALOT of fun and most times I make a few dollars for my "trouble" then I spend it on the next new toy.

I don't regret not holding on to bows when I know someone else is enjoying them.I have met and made friends for life all over the country and it's the bows that bind us.

I bought one for $200 a couple of years ago, but it has 2 sets of limbs,  30# white, 70" and and 50# black, 52".

I understand that the black limbs are for hunting and the white limbs are for target.

Great shooting bow with either set of limbs.
