Hello Guys, a friend was telling me he wants to trade his Fred Bear cardboard cutout.. Dose any one have one or know the years they where made.. I am sure this one is newer.. But still would be cool to have at the archery shoot with my Display case..

Wasn't that started with the 1968 Super K?  If I remember right it actually held a real bow in his cardboard hand.

Tim - Yes, that is one of Cliff Coe's "Double Action" bows.

The Fred Bear cut out is in front of one of several isles filled with old archery tackle here. Jokingly, I refer to it as "The Antique Archery Arsenal". Frankly it looks more like an "Antique Archery Junk Yard" the past couple of years, as I've been more than negligent in finding a new home for all the surplus items. If I ever get the whole place straightened up again, I'll try to post some representative photographs of all the walls. There's probably somewhere around 400 running feet of displays, most are floor to ceiling.

That sign is a pretty special item to me. It reads "Home of the Great Lakes Archery Museum". That is what Floyd Eccleston called his museum/archery shop.

 

The sign is 1' x 8'. Not shown above is the handwritten message on the right side that Floyd wrote... "Fred Bear always said Happy Hunting, me too. Floyd Eccleston". For a number of years this sign was on the front of Floyd's place right under his handmade sign "Chippewa Archery Shop". Although the original "Great Lakes Archery Museum" is no more, many of the items from Floyd's place are still with his sign and thousands of other related items. I feel very privileged to the present caretaker of these items.

Just like Floyd's place, other collectors are always welcome here.

Doc - I'm still working on updating that will. Been meaning to ask you if you have thought of anything you would like to have after I check out...

Bernie - I'm glad to hear that you think that photograph will be successful in getting you out of any hot water you may be in. Hopefully it doesn't wind up getting you and your collectibles thrown out of the house...

What does a life size poster of Fred Bear sell for?

Here is a picture of the old style cut out. This is from the Kevin Bishop collection.

Here is another one. A black and white version from the 1990's I believe.

Mine is like Wade's and someone asked about buying it. Seems like years ago I saw one sold on auction online for around $150. Just wondering if somebody had seen recent auction price.

I was given 5 of them by my late friend Frank Scott of bear Archery. I gave 3 of them as gifts to my dearest "Bear friends" at the time.

I sold the last one I had years ago in a "benefit auction" I held to help raise money for Dick Robertson's wife who was very ill at the time. The winner of the auction was directed to send the sale money directly to them to help with her medical bills.

The high bidder if memory serves was you Wade. Thank you for that.

Perhaps the one in your photo is that very one?

PapaBear looks quite nice standing in your museum of which is absolutely beautiful by the way.
