Hi all,
New to the place and just wanted to ask a quick question. I'm looking at purchasing a 70's super kodiak. The length is 60" and it's 45 pounds. It has brown wood and black glass with the white ivory colored limb tips and the same in front of handle. I've only seen a few pics of the bow but am going to see it in person this weekend(hopefully). Anyway it has 2 holes drilled in the rear of the riser for a sight and one in the front of the handle which i'm assuming was for a bow fishing reel? none of the holes are factory drilled. The fella is asking $100.00 I'm just getting into bear bows and have spent most of the last few hours trying to figure it out price wise but can't decide for sure so figured i'd just ask someone else who has more knowledge than me. The finish looks to be ok with no stress cracks ect. just "normal" looking. so please help me out?

for 100.00 I would probley already have the bow if it were me.Thats a great price on one of the best shooting bows ever built. The sight holes are not factory however the stabilizer bushing hole may very well be factory if the Super K your looking at was built after 1971.They all had the bushing standard after 1970.bd

I just paid $325.00 for one.  This one was in the weight I wanted, 55 pounds, and didn't have a scratch on it.  Looks like it just came off the dealer's rack. To be honest, once I saw it I was would have been willing to pay more to get it. $100.00 is a good deal for a Super K in a decent weight.

Thanks for the friendly help guy's. I'll be checking the bow out on sunday and unless he drags it there behind his car it'll be coming home with me. I'll try and post pics if all goes well for any that are interested.

I paid about 370 to get one of those from Jim Mann on the Bay. Best bow I ever bought on there period. It is the 76 with the radius shelf and skinny grip. I love it.

The Great Jashu

Looks like a 72, Very good deal. Did it come with the single spring arm quiver too?
No hunter should feel guilty for killing a deer that doesnt meet someone else's expectations.

Cody,
The Super K shoots like a dream! I was shooting a Blackhawk Avenger before this that was also 45# pounds but the sk def seems spits em out there with authority.

Jashu,
No I had the springer in the basement. I'm not good at picking the years of em(trying to learn though)but as you can see it has the stabilizer bushing and the coin is raised a bit. All in all I'm a happy camper. I had the spring quiver on a magnesium handled T/D with 55# limbs thats just a little heavy for me to shoot,I love the 45#'s now.
