Checked out the Bay for the first time in a while. Look at the tip picture on this one to see what a 59 Kodiak tip looks like right before it blows! 280409742111

The zoom feature on the photos really brings it out. Just a little food for thought and what to look out for on those old paper phenolic tips. CKruse

Oh, and by the way, the deck needs sealing too! Just like mine!  :(  CKruse

Looks like a very clean bow.. Othere then a few things.. Can't the paper phenolic tips be changed..
We as archer's must keep it alive by helping others into the sport WE LOVE.

You are correct Cameron. At this point, you could remove that tip overlay with your fingernail.

Cody, Yes the tip overlays can be replaced at this point. But you sure don't want to shoot it and have it get worse and split the laminations and glass.

I wasn't very clear. This one is big/obvious. It first shows up as just a small crack right where the string centers in the groove. If replaced at this point, A-OK. If not, a good chance of not only losing the tip, but as Wade stated, turning the bow into a wall-hanger! CKruse

oh yeah that one would not last long at all bouts 10-12 arrows would be my guess. Then a low cracking sound and the string would be stuck about 2 inches into the limb. Then she will have danced her last dance for sure.bd

Is that SNOW on the corner of the deck?!

I see the crack now that you pointed it out. Changing overlays....big job???

Good catch Cameron.  It is not obvious without the zoom feature.

... just like Cameron I wasnt looking for bows on **** (or TG for that matter) for 4 months now. Today I came across this very bow and made the seller an offer for it - as "wallhanger". Aside an unpolite reply (see below) he/she insited:

1) "There is no broken bow tip as pictured and described. Your offer is crazy. Good day."
2) "Sorry, there is no crack either."

... I decided to have a look at TG afterwards, as there certainly must be a thread running on this one. Sure enough, here it is ...
