Hi Folks,
You know, I was wondering if any of you remember the small, handy, Carbide (I think) Razorhead sharpener that Bear Sold back in the day? I seem to remember they were in brown or green, about 3" long, really simple design. could slip into a pocket or quiver pouch.

Is there anything compariable on the market? Does anyone have extras they would sell me, I'd like to get ahold of a couple.

I know I had one or two but I havn't seen them in 20 years! LOL
I am too dam old and have accumulated too much "old" stuff!

Harry.

Harry,

Would guess you are referring to the Fred Bear "Cutmaster" like these on this Bear Dealer Display Card...

Hey Wade, those things are oldern dirt and I'll STILL give retail for one or two. I'm such a pushover....Grant

Wade Phillips

Grant - You are always so generous. Shall I just send you the entire card?

Several years ago I had a bunch of brown Cutmasters that were loose, not in a package. I know I gave a lot of them away, but thought some were still left. Just can not PUT my hands on them right now.

Wow,
Wade you have probably got at least a few of every accessory Bear ever made! LOL!

Cutmaster....I couldn't remember the name.
Well..Can you part with one or two? If so Let me know what you want. If you cant, well I understand that too. I'd offer to trade something, but I dont think I have anything you already don't have two of!  :)
Thanks a lot,
Harry.

Wade Phillips

Harry,

Give me some time to find those darn loose brown ones. I'm sure there are some around here somewhere. Just hate to take those on the card out of their packages for someone to use.

I only have a few Bear Dealer Display cards that fill a very small otherwise empty spot on the wall.

You mentioned a green one. Don't know that I have ever owned a green Cutmaster.

Harry - No luck yet finding those brown Cutmasters....

However, did find a "Pre-Cutmaster" I will call it for the heck of it. also found a couple of Howard Hill Sharpeners in leather pouches branded "HOWARD HILL"...

The "Pre-Cutmaster" was in its original Bear Packaging Box Posmarked on the side Aug 3, 1961.  The plastic box states "CAM-NU-EDGE" and has the original paper instructions under the box inset.

The "HOWARD HILL" shapeners have a hollow plastic handle but no box nor instructions.

The Ben Pearson cutmaster is the package is kind of pinkish rather then red.bd

There is also a green and a gray cutmasters which are super hard to find for some reason.I do not think they say Bear on them but rather have the cutmaster info on both sides.
Here's two other little broadhead sharpenrs I have in a display.bd

d. ward

There around 4 inches long and they both have instructions on the back on how to sharpen the Browning Serpentine.bd

Wade Phillips

Doc -

Your Browning sharpener packages are still unopened... ???

How did you sharpen your Browning Serpentine Broadheads?

Wade, How rare are the  "HOWARD HILL" shapeners ?.. Let me know if you have any you would like to sell or trade ?...

Cody

Cody -

I have no idea how rare the  "HOWARD HILL" sharpeners are. Some of the Howard Hill experts can probably help you with that. Those two are the only ones I remember seeing but I'm not a serious Howard Hill collector.

I showed one to John Lee at Compton this year and said that he had never seen one before. He may have been pulling my leg as he has probably duplicates of more Howard Hill stuff than I have ever seen.
