Hello Guys, I am sure some of you guys will give me hell for this but.. I wanted to see some Target bows, and arrows.. I been thinking for a long long time that I would like to shoot Target Archery.. But I been playing around with a few bows that I put a 1960s sight.. And shot some 1616 alum..
But any Target Archery equipment  photo's would be great.. I would only like the older Target equipment.. Not newer then 1970s...

I just picked up some target bows today Cody. A Tamerlane and 2 Temujins one right handed and one left handed both with move able sights and a Mountaineer which has a metal riser and wooden limbs.

I'll try and get some pics. of them.

Cody- I picked up this bow from the original owner. He is known as Reddogge on this site. I traded him a '65 Kodiak for it and we were both very happy.

It is a 1966 Bear Tamerlane and he used it to shoot in the Maryland State Chmapionship with it. I have a picture of him (as a very young man) holding the bow at the Championship.

Bow designs, and wood use, really pushed the archery envelope with many of the top-end target recurves of the 1960s !

Bear Archery certainly participated in that trend, with the culmination of its efforts coming toward the end of the era with the HC-30 (left) and later HC-300 (right).

     

Both bows were considered state of the art from Bear in their day, and to own and shoot either of these models was almost a statement all on its own on the northern Wisconsin field and indoor ranges where I grew up.

     

The two in all of these photos are gorgeous wall-hangers from a long-gone era. The HC-30 is a Bear "Display" model. The HC-300 possesses, as I remember, a slightly twisted limb.

     

The funny thing is I've "sold" this pair twice, only to have the buyers back out both times because of sudden divorces.  I dare anyone to offer to buy or trade for them now! The Divorce Twins.

Awesome display of bows, it always amazes me how many fantastic old target bows are out there!!
