I just bought a 1964 Black Widow H-101 on the big auction but have never shot one before. My favorite shooting Kodiak as of now is my 64. Any ideas how these 2 bows will compare?

My guess is, they will both be "Top Notch" performers.

It will be interesting to hear how you answer your own question.

Keep us posted.

Joe - The 1964 H-101 is truly one of the real classic beauties and very nice shooting bow. Of all the Widows, I've always like that model.

I am certain you will enjoy looking at the Widow far more than looking at the plainest Jane Kodiak.

I will be real surprised if you like the Kodiak better just for shooting at targets.

I will be even more surprised if you like the Widow more for carrying around all day in the hunting fields.

Will be interesting to learn how you compare these two very different bows.

I like that I should be able to give each a very fair comparison test as to stability, accuracy, speed, and the intangibles of feel. They are both 60", the Kodiak is 45# and the Widow is 44#.

I am anxious to shoot both bows side by side
and see if I can pick out a clear, unbiased winner based strictly on performance issues and ignore who has the prettiest riser. This may be food for another topic thouth.

The Widow will be quieter.  The '64 has that distinctive "THUNK" that is characteristic of all '64 Kodiaks.

However, the '64 Kodiak is my all time favorite from the '60's of all bows.

Wade is right ...the Widow will be prettier, but I excpect the Kodiak to be a better shooter #/#

The most important part of your hunting setup is the broadhead.  The rest is just the delivery system.

Sorry for no comparison tests yet. I just won the Widow a couple of days ago and don't expect to see her for about a week. I will post my evaluation as soon as I can get both 64's side by side on the range.
