I picked this up sat. along with some bows and quivers etc. etc.

This is the first one i have seen and looks to be a early Bear logo on it. Haven't tried to use it yet. There is a center hole and two holes at the right end for mounting it and the ajustments are on the left end.  But seems it would be hard to use.

Does anyone have an old picture maybe that shows this or catalog...I'm thinking before 1958...Hink...

It's easy to use, just put the limb tip in the bottom pully, and the grip in the top one. Then simply pull back on the upper limb, and put your string on. It has to be mounted to do this.
I've got one I made that works the same way
Mounted to the corner of my shed.
If you dont anchor the top, make sure the wood is still strong enough. It takes a lot of stress up there.

I believe the Standing Bear Logo with that circular text first appeared in print in 1951.

If I remember correctly, the Standing Bear Logo with that circular text IN COMBINATION with the BEAR Script Logo first appeared in 1954 in documents, then later both appeared as silk screens on bows in what we collectors call the 1956 models, but actually some were made in mid 1955.  

As I'm certain you noticed, the silk screen on your bow stringer is much larger than the silk screen on the bows.

The only Bear Item that comes to mind with perhaps one of two silk screen that are approximately the same size, is the  is the Bear Brochure Display which was made of wood. I believe that display dates to the late 1950s, but I'd have to check on that for sure, as my memory sure isn't what it used to be...  I'm sure Bear made lots of different sizes of these two silk screens for various items.

You may have one of these wooden displays with the two larger silk screens than used on the bows. Note it has a different color combination than the logo on your stringer...

The script Bear text is 3.25" long, the Standing Bear Logo is 2.5" to the outside of the text.

Wade...I can't believe you haven't moved here along time ago as for the logo here's a pic of it looks to be the same size as of the bows.

Roy...I didn't get it there found it on my way home. I did pickup a 54 kodiak compass bow setup for left hand with a three arrow quiver a static tip griz right hand with a wedge for left hand,  nice bows also two left hand back quivers a bear and darton, a bear pocket quiver a few bear arm guards, fish arrow, broadheads and arrows and one gun related Western trap thrower not the hand model but one on three feet. All cool stuff. I'll get some picks of the items. I was gone from 6:30am to 8:30pm on sat. so its time to do what the wife has in store for me today.

If the Standing Bear Logos with circular text on the stinger and the bow is about the same size, the script Bear has to be much larger on the stringer than on the bow... Right?

What is the length of the script Bear text on the stringer?

Yep....now I got it...the Bear script is just over 3/4" tall and 2" long and the Bear script on my Brochure Display its approx. 1 1/4" tall and 3 3/16" long.

Hink,I also had a pretty good weekend.I sent you a Kibbe message on your e-mail.There is a broadhead in the mess that I think may be a Case Koreck is the picture clear enough to ID it.

Looks like you had a great weekend also, nice stuff, that broadhead looks like a stemmler but I'd have to check for sure when I get home from work in the morning....Hink..

Nice bunch of stuff you picked up this weekend.

Because of the roundness of the shoulder, the head looks like a Case Korek I Round Shoulder Slotted, as opposed to the Stemmler Lancet Convex Edge. would need a more straight on photograph to be able to tell for sure. The Case if a very tough head to find, but the Stemmler is fairly common.

Wade I need to talk to you about the Kibbe arrows.This arrow has a tappered self knock with a thin strip of reinforcmenton the edges.My pictures suck...

Rick, Yes, the round shoulder broadhead is a 1936 Case Korek Round Shoulder. It is one of two models...

It has a slot in the blade for the ferrule that is either...

7/16" deep slot for the Korek I or
11/16" deep slot for the Korek II

You can probably look along the seam where the blade and ferrule meet to see how deep the slot is as opposed to tying to remove the broadhead from the arrow.

The fiber reinforced self nock was a common and effective way to make nocks in the mid 1930s.
