My child bride and I recently celebrated our 25th anniversary by touring Maine. While being dragged from botique shop to botique shop, I stumbled into a junk shop. While rooting around various radio tubes and whatnots, I found this stuck in a barrel with old fishing rods.

It's marked "Bear Polar"
"AND419"
64"
46lb

Any idea as to what year? Another wall hanger for $20.00

Man nice find.... are you going to shoot it ?
We as archer's must keep it alive by helping others into the sport WE LOVE.

It's a 1957 or '58 Polar.  I shoot mine all the time.  If there's nothing obviously wrong with it, string it up!  Meant to be bent and all that!  ;)   :D

Here's the Polar after my local archery supply pusher took a look at it and put on a new string. It's about as straight as can be. I think I'll shoot it.

Yup. 25 years, new jobs, lost jobs, kids, 3 houses, breast cancer. Wouldn't trade any of it for anything in the whole world...
