Hello guys, I not seen much on the Supermag 48 Recurve Bow. Dose any one still shoot them or own them.. I would like some history on them when they where made or if many people shot them.. also if you guys could post a few pics if you have them..

I just sold the one I had along with a set of glass, #7 arrows with the original fletching and broadheads.I didn't like shooting it after I picked up a Pearson, 48". It was smoother and no finger pinch with two fingers or three.

I figured the pinch would be there. Haven't shot one yet. What model Pearson you got mullet?

hey Cody,  The Super Mag is one of the bows that Bill Stewart designed for Fred Bear in 1965. It came out in the 1966 catalog marketed as " The bow only Bear would dare to Build". If you can check out the catalog ad. I'd  post it but I can't do it from this phone. I just changed my avatar to a pic of my Super Mag a few days ago. I shot it as soon as I got it and loved it. I realized soon after I got it that it is actually the serial number 1 Super Mag.... The first production 48". This one's as old as they get with a 65 serial number, 5N1.   I won't be shooting that one anymore. The green bow next to it might be just as interesting. It's an even shorter proto/EXP 46" @ 50#, maybe the shortest hunting weight bow Bear made? That one I didn't shoot. I will by a shooter for sure when the right one comes along.  Greg

They made em from 1966 to 1977 I think. The first few yers were phenolic risers, around 1970 they went to brown actionwood. In the 1970s they were made with red and blue stripes, like the super kodiaks.

Seboomook, The one I have is an Ambusher, 7360. It is very comfortable to shoot sitting flat on your butt or lieing down

I have a buddy that has either equalizer or ambusher 48 inch pearson 50#@28 and i draw around 29 with no finger pinch. and i shot it suprising well. it is the shortest trad bow i have shot to date.

Greg, post some more pics of those two sweet finds you have. I Love Supermags...cant believe you found the #1 and even more so a 46" Protoype....very cool!

I had no idea that the design was from Stewart..but then again I am not really up on all the Bear history. Thats an interesting bit of onfo.
