Thank you all for posting your tips and tricks for refinishing and restoring old bows.  I recently found a Browning Nomad Stalker I in a pawn shop in pretty rough shape (badly scratched and dinged with significant twist in the lower limb).  It was cheap so after a week of debate I decided to buy it and try my hand at refinishing it.  I think I read every post on here regarding refinishing and learned a lot - you people are amazing.  I got the twist out, stripped the whole bow (saved the decal!) and applied coat after coat of Tru-Oil.

Between coats of Tru-Oil, I crested and fletched a dozen arrows.  Yesterday I twisted up a string.  As soon as I can make it home from work before it gets dark I'm going to spend some time with her in the back yard - I can't wait.

Here are a few pics:

Thanks again, I couldn't have done this without you guys!

Thanks for all of your nice comments.

I got a chance to fling a few arrows tonight.  It's quite a bit different than the 68" 77# Robertson that I normally shoot, but it shot great and I had a lot of fun (and didn't wear out near as fast).  Might even take it to the woods this weekend in search of some tree rats.
