I know that when shooting instinctive, the tendency is to shoot high when you get close and when elevated.  But what might cause me to be consistently high when shooting from my little three legged stool. When standing, my up/down is usually right on.

Thanks for any suggestions

I have never been able to shoot well from most hunting stools.  You are so "squnched up".  When you are all with your "knees in your face" so to speak, it is difficult to shoot.  I would try to maintain a straight posture, because the tendency is to lean forward.  This is why I think we shoot high.  Get your back straight and point that bow shoulder at the target.  I shot a doe out of a "boatseat" stand in the Hill country of Texas by making sure sitting up straight, like you are at attention, and "closing up" making sure my bow shoulder is pointed right at the target.  It will feel like you are almost looking over your shoulder your are so closed to the target.

John Schulz would tell you to cant the bow more when seated.  Works well for me.

John starts a relative story in the last 20 seconds of this video.....

And finishes it in the first portion of this one.

Green,

Great videos.  It was an aha moment for me.  I've also been fighting with my arrow spine, but I think it has more to do with my bow cant.  Thanks for the links.
