Good evening,

    I have been away for awhile and am recently trying to get back to my archery.  I have a question that is based on experience, I think, and am looking for help.  I have been shooting for about 12 years now, I am self taught (never really knew anyone that  shot traditional around my locale), and invested in more than a few traditional bows.  I have found that the bow I shoot best (pretty accurately and precise) is my Chek-mate Crusader.  I was wondering if anyone  else has experience with this bow and can point me in the direction of a bow with similar shooting characteristics (stability, shootability, lack of shock, design, etc.).  I want to have a backup bow  for the "just in case".

A bow is a very personal choice.
Length, draw wieght, grip styles. I'm not sure any one would be able to tell you.
What is stable for me might be twitchy for you.
Generally longer bows are more forgiving and thus 'more accurate'. There is a reason olympics bows are built like they are...

There is nothing wrong with a 'just in case' bow that is different either. As long as your confidant in both.
Many bowyers are willing to talk in depth about their designs even if your are looking at buying second hand.

Best advice, try before you buy.
