Have been lurking on the form forum for a bit now and reading Terry's form clock over and over. After piecing it all together this is the conclusion about cant and alignment that I have come up with and just want to know if I am on target here.

If I let my bow take a slight cant as it naturally does when pointing at the target, do I have to bend slightly at the waist to line up with the bow/string? Ensuring that I keep full expansion of course, moving nothing else but the waist.

Not necessarily. A slight cant won't affect much.If you see guys on the range all bent over they don't look at all comfortable.

If you're shooting with the proper grip on the bow, things will most likely take a natural cant at anchor due to the orientation of your string hand on your face.  This is a good thing as you're shooting pretty much torque free.

I usually do shoot pretty much straight up, but when I cant the bow a little, I do tilt my head a little also. I only bend at the waist if I have to cant a lot, this keeps everything aligned.

You have to make sure everything is still aligned.  Like your string hand...so, you have to cant your string hand some way as to not put a Z torque on the string.

If you want to cant at the waist, no problem.  I cant an bend at the waist...and I'm all comfy cozy doing so and don't really care 'how I look' ....and shoot my best that way(my back yard shot).

Maybe because my style is more of an athletic maneuver than a methodical process, so that's why I'm more in an athletic position.
