just finished the Asbell Shooting clinic at Black Widow!.....I am left eye dominant (now) and went into this clinic with an open mind...I was the perfect student with no bad habits, left handed.  some things that really stand out in my mind:
1: There is no such thing as a "bad release"- you're not pushing and pulling at the moment of release.
2: for instinctive shooting, Keep the arrow out of eye contact during the draw.  This keeps your brain from telling you that it is time to let go before you come to full draw and hit your anchor. (as I see it- TARGET PANIC!
What a great experience! I am 48 years old and just switched hands. It is working awesome. I will continue to practice this for for a couple of monthe at 5 - 10 yards til it is ingrained in my mind....Can't wait for hunting season!!!  Terry

I'm also a huge fan.  I've read Advanced Instinctive Shooting 3x.  And every Aug I re-read "The Ground Hunter's Bible"--pretty sure I've read it at least 10x.  Also went to his shooting clinic in Nixa two years ago.  Great time and my shooting really improved.

Gentlemen-I have a question regarding Mr. Asbell's shooting clinic...do the lessons you learn stick in your head for a long time? Or, did you fall back to your former habits? Just wonderin' before I take some lessons! Thanks a lot!

so far, they are pretty ingrained in my head. I think it is money well spent and I have been shooting most of my life. (I'm 48 yrs old). Even if all you get out of it is the stalking and still hunting part......Keep in mind that his style is all about bow hunting. .not target archery.

I've never been fortunate enough to attend a clinic but...as with anything, if you stick to the changes, they will work.

GFred has been around a good long while. He knows.

Others herein know too. Some you wouldn't even begin to suspect. All offer their assistance readily even GFred when he's here. Great place or what?

Never took a shooting clinic but took tons of golf lessons. After each lesson I'd jump into the car and write a form that looked like this

Drills:

I kept them in a notebook and referred to them for years.
