How much, or long, do you shoot before taking a day off? I've been shooting every day,for maybe 10 days, and doing well, but today after 20 minutes my form began to slip. I finished the session with some close bale. I think it's fatigue. I may shoot no more than 3 days in a row, then rest a day from now on. I noticed that I was slouching and having a hard time keeping good posture. Has this happened to any of you?

Guess you got it figured out. That's going to happen to everybody.

Thanks Ruff! I thought overkill was probably the case, but it's good to hear from others on their experiences and opinions.    :coffee:

I shoot almost everyday but many days I may just shoot 3 or 4 arrows and stop even if shooting really well.

Good luck

I usually shoot after work and if I am really tired or have my mind on something else my shooting shows it. I tend to get frustrated/angry at the inconsistant shots. I have posted questions about this same issue and believe me the quality of the shots and not the quantity makes a world of difference. I have learned the hard way that your body must rest and your form and enjoyment of tradtional archery will reflect this. As always, make it fun.

Recovery is just as important as practice. Scheduling recovery before it becomes necessary is an important detail.

Here's a little tip from a young guy ( 62 ) Kettle bells and indian clubs, plus calisthenics on a fairly regular basis, does it hurt ?, you know it, but is it worth it, you know it. Can't give into fatigue, even if you have to only shoot one arrow, make it good.

I mostly shoot after work and, Thank the Good Lord, have no problems with my shooting.

Good luck Brother.
