When at full draw should I see the sting with my eye?
I was told I should, by an instructor, so I got a very light weight bow (18 #) and shoot about 600 arrows at ten feet.
When I took my bow and shoot the same way at 20 yards. I was 2 feet to the right. I shoot left handed.
Does someone have a illustration from the eye looking out?

Your instructor gave you good advice.  Take your 18# bow and shoot it out to 20 yards too and see if your error shows up.  Many errors are hidden at very close range that may show up farther out.

I for one sense the string as a "blurry blob" at full draw.  Some have trouble with the string right in the center of their vision and can work with it slightly to the side of their vision.  You can see the string position in my avatar photo and also in some of my videos but since I wear glasses that may not be revealing for you.  The string reference is just another tool to use to get multiple reference points for you at anchor.

            I have found that shooting that 18# makes it harder for me. I am not sure if it if because the arrow does not sit on the shelf but on a piece of plastic.
I am trying to us only my bow and concentrate harder. I don't mind seeing the string.

Be sure you are not turning your head into the string instead of mimicking the string angle with head tilt..

Don't know how to get an "eye's view of the string, here is the best I can do.  First without glasses

And second, for those of you like me that need to shoot with glasses.

Ok that was funny.
I think I might have to have someone take a picture and post. Right now the string I'd on the outside of my eye. Yours is on the inside

Everyone will have a slightly different picture -- facial structure, form, etc.  For me that string is squarely in the center of my pupil.  You just have to play with it until you find what you like.

My stance is a bit more open than moebow's and I cant the bow a bit more... so the string lightly touches my nose and is centered in my eye..

it makes me wonder if I am pulling to far back.... Pictures soon
