I use a brass nock set and an eliminator button...you know...one of those rubber techy thingys...

Why do you call shooting 3-under the "dark side"??     There's nothing "dark" about it.

Don't let the "trad police" or the "more trad than though" group tell you 3-under isn't trad.

Shot split for 30+ years and I tried 3 under 2 years ago and never went back.  :archer:

It's not that. I've been shooting a stick bow only for  more than 15 years now and got into it when no one was "trad" and there was no internet so you wouldn't know anyway

I call it the "dark side" because it was the "other" way that I never used.

Plus, almost every really good shooter I know shoots 3 under, and while occasionally I can beat them at shoots, typically they are more consistent. So in effect, I am giving up the fight and joining the "enemy".

Sounds like I need to start working with 3 under!

A big +1 to two nock points!  My groups tightened up significantly when I put a second one on.  Watch the video and you will be convinced.

I shoot three under because I have to I am one of those 6 in a hundred that can't shoot split finger. I fought with it for 15 years and finally just switched to three under, this year. I have become comfortable with it and shoot more accurate. I feel as though I have gained control of my shot.

Nothing wrong with 3 Under! haha. I feel like I get a cleaner release going 3 under versus shooting split finger, but that could be just me. I can definitely tell in arrow flight when I shoot 3 under versus split finger, so I think that proves, to myself at least, that I'm getting a cleaner release.

Guys,
Where do I start with shooting 3under? I've been shooting split for around 60yrs, but would like to give it a try. All of my bows are tillered for split finger so how will this affect my nocking point and so on? Anyway it will have to wait until after hunting season before I attempt to switch. Thank you for any advice you can give an old fart like me.

Regards,
Rick

Well.... you just start. :^) You may not have to change anything, but sometimes the nocking point needs to be raised 1/8"; in effect changing the tiller of the bow.  Anchor in the same place and same way you do now. You'll probably shoot low for a few days until you get used to it.  Give it an honest try for a month or so and see how it goes.

Jim,
Thank you and I will do just that.

Regards,
Rick
