I have been messing with the way I shoot trying to improve. Tonight I shot with just two fingers index finger over the arrow and the middle finger under the arrow. Does any one else shoot this way or know any one who does or why don't people shoot this way? Tyler

A few people shoot that way but not many. I think because it is much easier to torque the string that way.

I've been shooting that way for 3-4 months now and my consistancy is up. The only problem I had was in the beginning was with tired fingers, so I just cut back a little on my number of arrows and gradually added them back to the number I was shooting a day. The one benefit is with this release your thumb is no longer in the way,as I and others have complained, but is occupied by the ring finger. One other thing I changed was my anchor from middle finger to index at corner of mouth, made the release even cleaner. It does take a little getting used to but works for me.

Way back when, with my target bows, I tried two finger split, two under, and finally a Wilson strap tab.  Even the Wilson strap tab was a challenge for finger strength with my FITA  bow which was 42 pounds.  If you find that you are turning your fingers for added strength and leverage to get a consistently strong release you will run into physical risk. It is hard for me to get a consistent crisp release if there is weakness or pain involved.
