Yeah it's all been talked about and it's listed as first thing to do when getting into Trad is determine dominate eye. I do have a dominate left eye but shoot right and I do just fine. I do shoot instinctive with both eyes open, I shoot left in everything else IE hockey, golf, baseball but pitch right handed. Is there a chance my brain just adjusted, for years I use to put mud on my left lens for wing shooting ducks but I don't even require that anymore. Anyone else have this what I call good fortune?

You have proble adjusted my brother does everything right handed but soots left handed I would suggest you try both and go with whatever feels most comfortable.

Lots of thoughts on this. I tend to go along with Kidwell, author on instinctive archery.

If you draw and shoot instinctive, being a binocular critter with eyes in front, it doesn't really matter which eye is dominant...

If you sight down the arrow or other method of gap or whatever else it's called, then dominance would seem to play a big part.

I used to shoot bare bow compound with fingers. Wasn't till I tried a sight I learned I had cross domination. Then it required closing an eye to sight cross dominant.

Back to sticks 20 yrs and just point and shoot and never notice it being an issue. Jay Kidwell makes a graphic demo in his paperback book that might help ease your mind some.

Some people do have a dominate eye and for some folks the dominate eye shifts from one side to the other. I have read various studies about this as mine does shift. I was told by one intructor that the only way to make sure one eye is dominate is to close the other.
