Been there done it.  Expect your shooting to improve by double.

I just got back a couple of weeks ago,and it was incredible.

Be ready to change some things, like your anchor, hold time, stance, and your way of thinking.  He will also teach you how to set up your bow so that it shoots where you look.

I was blown away in the first two hours of the school, especially after he started tinkering with my rest and strike plate material.  It was like sighting in a rifle, walking the shots towards the spot I was looking at. He also moved my fletching back a bit, so my nose would slide into the back of the feather, for a double anchor. After we got the bow set up correctly it was simply amazing.

I was very excited to say the least.  I could have saved a lot of time and money if I would have done this 2 or 3 years ago.  Money well spent!

You can check out my video from the last day on Rick's YouTube channel, Dakotaenterprises.

Be ready to take some notes, and ask lots of questions.  It would also be a good idea to bring some bare shafts to get fletched up properly if you can.

Do expect to change the rest and strike plate on what ever bow you take to set up.  Be open minded and learn.  Rick is a great one on one instructor.

I now know how to tune my bow, and I know the common causes I personally have for missing in various directions (left, right etc..)

You should walk away impressed with yourself, your bow, and him.

I am heading to Rick's school in Arkansas in April. I have been wanting to go for a few years myself. I have talked to Rick on the phone and all the arrangements have been made. Can't wait to get there.

Hi everyone, I just got back from Rick's school yesterday and I am more than pleased with the results. Let me start off by saying that I have been practicing Rick's stile of shooting for a few years now after watching his 2nd instructional video, but I knew that there was a few things that I just wasn't getting. I am glad that I got the video before I went down to see him as it definitely gives you a good heads up as what to expect when you get there.
When I first got there I warmed up with a few shots at a bag target before going out and shooting a 20 target round which Rick scored and videoed. scoring for each target was 10-8-5 which would give you a max score of 200. I shot a 155 which was good for me. After going in and reviewing the video, Rick took me back outside and tweaked a few things that I needed to work on and at the end of the day I shot another round and scored a 184, 12-10s and 8-8s. by far the best round I have ever shot on a 3D course. The following day he scored one more round for me and I shot a 188, 14-10s and 6-8s, again the best round that I have ever shot.
I still have things to work on with my shooting, but I know what they are now and will hopefully keep improving.
I just thought that I would share my experience with everyone that is on the fence on weather they want to spend the money to go down or not. I can't speak for everyone that has went to the school, but it was money well spent for me.
One more thing, his bows are by far the smoothest shooting bows that I have ever shot. Thank god I have an understanding wife that was OK with me ordering one while I was there.

Thanks, Rick Combs
