I'm right handed. I've been missing a few inches left fairly often. I tried closing my left eye right before release and it brought them back to the right and tightened the group. Why is this?

Do you close your left eye when you shoot open sight firearms?

My guess would be because you took yourself from "binocular" vision....to "monocular" vision. Are you right eye dominant?

If this is happening on a regular basis, I would try changing out your sideplate, to a softer type material. Something like female velcro, and see if your arrow doesn't move back to where you are looking. You could also go to a heavier weight tip, which would weaken your spine. I have this problem "occasionally" and when I do, just closing up my stance brings me back to the right. If it is a "regular" occurance, I would change one of the above, at a time.....going from the easiest first and see if the problem doesn't go away.

Taking an educated guess, I'm saying that you are shooting carbon arrows.

Yes GT vapor 400 which is basically a 55/75. I have 200 gr. of tip with 150 gr of weight behind the insert(640 total). They are  28.5 long and I'm shooting them out of a 56 @ 28 BW MAII. Side plate is thin felt.

Not sure if I'm right eye dominant.

To check to see which eye is dominant, you can put your index finger into your thumb and make a circle.....like making the O.K. sign. Extend your arm all the way out in front of you and use it like a sight to target something with, leave both eyes open while doing this. Then close one eye at a time while holding your hand in the same position. When the target is still in the center of the circle when you close the opposite eye.......that will be which eye is dominant.

Try some female velcro for a sideplate and see if that doesn't bring the arrow back to where you are looking.
