Do you push towards the target or start drawing with a rigid arm? Is your concentration focused on back tension and pushing?

freefeet

I start with bow arm extended and aimed as pushing causes elbow pain (tendonitis).

Start with bow arm extended towards target, then push-pull.

Same as the two gentlemen above me. Found that this works best for me.
The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves, but wiser people so full of doubts.

I do it because there is less movement as opposed to my old swing draw technique and the bow is aimed when I come to full draw.  A second or two to apply back tension and off it goes.

I like a rigid bow arm. I believe that it is more consistant. I am still pushing toward the target (palm) though with my elbow rotated.

I shoot both with a ridged arm...and sometimes I push pull....the game/shot scenario decides that I don't. Just like whether I swing draw or pre-point, or snap shoot or hold....its all dictated by the situation at hand when the shot becomes available.

My concentration is on the spot I want to hit...all that other stuff is burned in so I don't have to 'think' about it.

Ditto. I learned about a ridged bow arm while reading GFA's book and it did wonders for my consistency. I have a very deliberate bow arm.

I'll be using more of a swing draw come small game season though. Not enough time to worry about being deliberate in that scenario.

Whew I read Terry's post with relief. Ive only been shooting for about a year now and I do both, straight arm and push pull. When I read the question I thought Oh tiSh another thing I am doing wrong!
