Got a new to me Tembo and I love it. The problem is, I have an intermittent smacking sound that I cannot pinpoint. I do seem to get it on my heavy riser R/D Windwalker bow, though it is less pronounced.

I've tried:
-moving the nocking point
-changing arrow spine (I have some made for the bow by Craig)
- different grips

I'm working on:
- bareshafting

I know I'm in the process, but anyone have any ideas? I've had issues with TP and shortdrawing in the past that I am still working on. It doesn't seem to matter how I draw and where/how I anchor though. It's not consistantly there. I do have some videos of me shooting up on photobucket, though I don't know they will help.

I can see that I'm still a touch short of anchor, and most of those shots were pretty quiet.

It seems to me that you release too quickly. Try to stay at least for a second or two touching your anchor point in your face.

What is your bow weight? If it is too heavy, one tends to release as fast as one can.

It's a 53 at 29 inches which really isn't a problem for me to hold for a while. I grew up shooting the Hill/Shultz Style...as seen on Hittin 'em Like Howard Hill. That explains the quick release.

In the second video it looks as though you were definitely short drawing somewhat on every shot.

Is that likely what is causing the slap?

Sometimes your fourm can cause this to happen. If you've went through the other things and it still happens maybe you need to take a look at this.

Thanks guys. I'm shooting the hill around 6 3/4's right now. I'll try to raise it a bit. I'm going to continue to work on the short draw thing.
