I was shooting with one of our (NC) 2X state champions, today.  What a great time....and he mentioned something he saw (didn't criticize, at all, just noted).

He said I would come to full draw....then tilt my head in to my draw hand.....in lieu of bringing my draw hand directly to my anchor point (keeping my head more stationary).

Is this simply a form flaw....or is it a sign of something else?

Ok, I'm a newbie at this so take it for what it is worth(2cents). If I cant my head with the cant of my bow that's ok. If I'm tilting my head forward then it changes my draw length. I try to remind myself"keep your chin up". I hope some one with some experience chimes in for you.- Steve

Personally, if I don't bring the arrow directly back and under my dominate eye, my windage accuracy suffers a lot.

Another common problem with what you are doing is having the string smack some part of your face.

I get it "there", I suppose, but I also think I must be adjusting my windage a lot once my head's in position.

Seems like some unneccessary movement, I admit....and I'll work on it.

Jeff, I think some would say it's a flaw, because you will tend to tilt your head inconsistently from shot to shot, varying the relationship between your eye and the arrow.  Try setting your bow cant/head cant before you draw, then draw directly to your anchor.  I would say if you have a problem keeping your head stationary and drawing straight to anchor, you might need less bow weight.
