My bow sounds like a bass fiddle

I noticed while I was shooting my new bow the string sounded like a bass fiddle string.  It's a PSE Sequoia 68" 50#@28". I'm using a dacron b-50 string. Would string silencers help.

It shoots very good, considering the bowman.    :banghead:

After reading the post on tight nocks, that makes sense.  I'll sand the inside of the nock a bit and see how it sounds.

There is a lot of stretch in b-50. Check your brace height every 15 to 20 shots and add twist if needed.

String silencers will take alot of the twang out.

I have the same bow. I put on some limbsaver string leeches. Made a world of difference on mine.

Increasing my brace height sure did quiet my bow down. Whats your brace height set at?

Spec brace height on the Sequoia is 6-1/2" to 7".  I'd try raising it a bit more.

I've gon to about 6 3/4".  Still sounds but not as bad.  Been raining past 2 days and unable to shoot.  Will try 7" and see what that does.  I'm beginning to be able to tell when a shot will be good or not before the arrow hits.  Ferguson talked about that.    :archer:
