My initial preference is for POC arrows but I've run out of them. I've been shooting aluminium for a while now. I'd like to get some more woodies and I'm thinking about tapered shafts. I was wondering if anyone has experience with them.

      thanks,

I've shot a bunch of both tapered and parallel cedar arrows Rusty, and for me, the tapered is worth enuf that I made up a rig to do my own.  IMO tapering does a few things:  it moves the CG of the arrow forward (FOC); it lightens the rear of the arrow, helping with recovery from paradox; and I think it kinda "tillers" the arrow and evens out the bend thru paradox.  Tapered shafts shoot straighter and more consistently for me.
Good judgement comes from experience.  Experience comes from bad judgement.

I used to use them when I shot heavier bows and they shot better. Also it helps clear the fletching better. Now I shoot lighter bows and use only 5/16 shafts and can't taper them because the nock end has to be so small

They seem to come out of paradox a bit quicker. I expect some of the sponsors in the link above can supply them for you, but I believe there are no finer tapered POC shafts than those from Wapiti Archery.
