What could cause the top bow tip to move the right and the bottom tip to move the left upon relase. Almost like a pivot.

I just noticed this.

Is this bad?

Molson

Do you mean after the shot the string lays to the left and right of the groove (recurve)?  If so, sounds like a twisted limb(s).

No, not at all.

I mean as part of the follow through. My bow arm remains on target, however the bow is pivoting a couple of inches. Top limb tip right, bottom limb tip left. I'm thinking it has to be from either torquing the string or grip. Just wondering if anyone has had this happen to them before and how they corrected it.

**DONOTDELETE**

Do you shoot with the bow vertical or canted? It maybe that you are going from a vertical bow position to a more comfortable and more natural position with the canted bow position. If I am guessing right, you might want to switch to the canted position and you will be happier.

It could be that you are gripping the bow right at (or just after) the release causing it to move.  I do that sometimes and, for me, it causes my lower limb to come back and upper to move forward.  Usually when it happens, it's because I'm extending my bow arm too much.

ONE SHOT

You are torqing the Bow, that is you are twisting the Bow in your Bow holding hand. Having your elbow streched out straight will cause this to happen. You should always bend your elbow no more than about 5Deg. and keep your hand in a straight line with your other shoulder. Hold the Bow with a light grip on the handle just enough so it can't fall to the ground....ONE SHOT...  :)    :D    :)

Molson, you hit it. I concentrated on an even grip this weekend and got back on track. Thanks a bunch.
