Im still new to traditional and I am having problems with my release. I shoot a tab but on my right ring finger the string is takeing the skin off my finger. It is only this finger that it happens to and after a few shots it begins to hurt. What am I doing wrong? Help Plz guys

Which part of the ring finger is it taking the skin off from?  I'm guessing it's taking the skin off the side of the finger that's next to your pinky.  If so, that's because when you draw the bowstring, the angle of the string changes and comes in contact with that exposed part of your finger, so that when you release, the string rubs your finger right there, taking off your skin.  You might want to switch to a finger glove and see if that solves your problem.  Or use a larger tab.

its the very tip of my finger where I hold the string...but it is only that finger I would think it would be all not just the one

You should get a better release if you use a deep hook. The string should be in the first joint of your fingers and the muscles in the back of your hand should be relaxed.

use the tab in a way that it covers your finger tips.

I had the same problem when I started shooting a tab. You need to get one that fits you, they are not all the same. I shoot a glove now made by Neet that I like alot. I still have one tab that I can shoot good after going through three or four other types. For me, the mitt type tab was the worst folowed by the widow but thats just me. Try some other tabs. At any traditionsl shoot folks will let you try what they use, always a good group of shooters.

The tab covers up my finger and it just has started happening the past week or so
