J.D. I kinda get the picture but I had heard at one time that you should leave the tips a bit wide at first and narrow them later. Maybe that was on a recurved selfbow, I can't remember. You got any guidelines like that?

Nice job JD.  How are you gonna wrap the handle?  You gonna do it online for us?  You must eat up a lot of belt sander belts.  You butcher deer with that thing too?
Take a kid hunting!

just got a break from my real job:)  yes Tom my tips are 3/4" when I first bend them and after I get the bow bending on the tillering string to about 5" brace height, then I narrow the tips to around 1/2"
John, yep I'm gonna show the process I go thru to get the leather handle wrap, also tip overlay work... hows the tiller look to you guys?

Looks perty much dead nuts to me JD but what do I know.  I'm like 700 and sumpin bows behind you.  That right fade catches my eye for some reason.  Picture is just too poor to make any sense of it.  Maybe a shadow or something.  How about a daylight full draw once she's all smoothed off and gussied up.

David, you might be right, need to check it out... also the pic's are decieving not as pronounced as in real life... had to add a flash to make it show up.

Sure make it look easy JD.   You only had to put it on the tiller tree a few times, and I have a path worn an inch deep in the concrete between my bench and the tree.
Humbling.    :)

Also... You only use a rasp, scraper and a knee?    If my wife saw that she'd wonder why I really need all these tools.

Nice Job!

wart

Joe Don,
I'm proud that you used wart as part of your presentation.  Enough lessons, just send me one. And one for the boys too.
