Ken Onion Work Sharp

I have no problem sharpening broadheads on a dmt stone with my KME or free hand for the three blade heads. The problem I have is getting new heads or really dull heads to the proper angle since it takes so long and really uses up the DMT stone. I'm hoping with the KO Work Sharp the coarse belt will get the angle down quickly so it can be finished on the stone or done totally on the KO. For those of you that have one will this work?

You would need to take the guide off of the worksharp as the ferrule would interfer with it. I am not that good free handing anything... If you are good at free hand work then I think you might even start with the green belt on broadheads that have angle really off.
The worksharp is an excellent tool for sharpening knives. I have been thinking about the DMT Extra Course stone to use with the KME...

I utilize the KO worksharp as well. Very effective. I removed the guide though...I free hand everything. It'll put a nice concave edge on broadheads.

Why not superimpose a simple fine toothed, mill bastard file or sandpaper over your stone or another flat surface? Both would cut more aggressively and prepare heads/knives for the finer stones. Personally I would just use sandpaper.

I tried the work sharp and did not care for it. Too much play.

[/url] [/IMG] Got this guy from HF and it works great on double edge BHS. I also use it to taper arrows and it was pretty inexpensive.

That would be a convex edge. I heard the regular Work Sharp is better than the KO one I plan to buy one and see. No reason it shouldn't work on broadheads.

Me too! It was fine for kitchen knives and such, but I did not think it did good enough on broadheads!

Work sharp was a disappointment. I got the 1" belt sander w leather strop. Much better!

I have a KO work sharp and a 2*72. I was very impressed with the KO work shop. It does take some getting used to in order to get it right. If you are not great with the angle you can use the knife make attachment(not well named) but does help with that.

Thanks for the correction. Yes, CONVEX is what I meant to say.

I really like using my work sharp for my axes and large edge tools.

The KO is better than the original work sharp because the KO has an adjustable speed. The original, it's on or off.
