I have been unable to find my good wool coups cap since last winter, so I ordered another one. Ordered it last week, and it showed up yesterday in the mail.  Almost identical to the first. Hope that I can find the other one, and then I will have a spare.

That'd be a piece of fine wool hunting attire from Chuck Deshler - AKA "Two Tacks" (Sponsor)... Good stuff indeed!

Hey Pat. How close do they fit to advertised sizing? How much do they stretch? Been looking hard at getting one lately.

I have a relatively small head, normally wearing 7 1/8".  This is a size large and fits well.  The previous one was a size large, but was quite a bit looser.  I washed it in warm(or maybe hot, I can't remember) water and it shrank down to fit perfectly.  Personally, I would order a size larger if on the fence, but I can only speak of my experiences.  Others may want to chime in.

I have alot of trouble shooting withnoyher brimmed hats.  They all get in the way of the string, even the stormy kromer, except for this one.  Great hat.

I love mine also and don't worry Pat if it is like me the other one is sure to show up but it will likely to be this summer when you don't need it. I think for me it is a sign of getting older and hiding things from myself or what others call a Senior moment.

Well Pat, Santa just brought me one.  Feels like it is gonna be toasty!  Got a large and its a little big. how much did you get it to shrink when washed? I'm 7 1/8-1/4 too.

A pretty good amount.  If you wash it in warm or hot for a short cycle, then pull it out while it is still wet you can stretch it over your head until it is cool and it will stretch to fit.  Actually tightens up the weave and makes it warmer.  Good luck.  I would try warm first if it was me.  I did mine accidentally after getting blood on it and washing it.

Yesterday it was 62 degrees today -4 in PM.  Plus bonus 11" of new snow.  I am almost in tears, but I'm a whimp. Glad you found your hat looks good.
