Found and bought two six-packs of these recently on the 'bay at a good price. I'm guessing they'll work as good as ever, despite their "age." Also just ordered 3 doz ash shafts from a forum member here and 100 yellow barred feathers, going to make up some new hunting arrows. Some I'll tip with these. I've shot Deltas for years, thought I'd try the Eskis for a switch.

I like the hi-tech packaging on these - just like the first Zwickeys I ever bought 30 years ago.    :)

Never bought any "new" Zwickeys but I have always seemed to have a few lying around. Great heads, certainly have seemed to stand the test of time.

That packaging is pretty dang classy, looks great! Looks like you scored big.

No doubt they will sharpen up fine.  I have some identical heads in my arsenal.

My buck this year was taken with a 1960 Mowoc Dot.  The old heads of good material and design work pretty well . . . deer are mostly unchanged these last 60,000 years or so.   ;-)

Hey limbshaker, we only about 40 miles apart. I'm in Florence, or just west of town, anyway. Bend of the (Tennessee) river.

what's their age?   because I bought some new in a store in September and that was the packaging?  unless it was NOS stuff because before that I bought zwicks around 1986 an they had that vintage packaging too,,,,,  curious because its never been mentioned is there a date on zwickey packaging to identify the DOB.

So you are telling me the broadheads I shoot are vintage huh? And they play Van Halen on a "classic rock" station. Man I'm feeling old.

zwickey2bl

I hear ya bro, at pushing 60 I'm definitely in the "vintage" and "classic" categories. I heard a guy a while back comment in a department store, kinda absently and to no one in particular (though I'm guessing he saw me and thought I'd understand) - "never thought I'd live long enough to hear the Muzak version of 'Smoke on the Water.' I laughed at that.

Tajue, I think you're right, they've been using that same packaging for years, but some I saw for sale online recently looked like they were in a blister-pack of 3 rather than 6, and they were as much as I paid per 6 pack of these.

Tajue17

okay I get it now, vintage style? but is there such a thing after knapped heads?

Yea.  Verily.

I have some of those same vintage heads and have never even gotten close to a sharp edge on those bleeders.

Stumpkiller, I'mm with you. Anything on the Bayeux Tapestry is vintage enough for me.

Got one or two of them Ron.

The only thing vintage about those Black Diamands is the guy using them, ME, lol.  I hate the bleeders.  Dad left me maybe 50 of the Black Diamonds and if they had the bleaders I ground them off.

I also have two of the made for Bear Black Diamonds which are on the older side.

I've got 60 of those Modoc's if anyone wants some.

Stumpkiller

Mowoc or Modoc?

This is a Modoc

That statement kinda dates me as well sadly.. somewhere on my bench I have a set of Zwickeys' that I originally bought when I first started out and ground off the bleeder blades.

Zwickey2bl, as I'm sure you know, Zswickey hasn't changed the design of the eskimo or delta head or the packaging in which they're sold since they were put on the market more than 50 years ago.  Did change the color a time or two though. The most recent was a dull blue about 10-20 years ago before going back to the current dull green.

Excellent head.  I usually have a few deltas in my quiver.

Paul/KS

I think I still have a few Bear broadheads from the early 70's.
