We all love Frederick Bear and his stories. Glenn St. Charles as well.

But who has done a hunt on the little delta River? I'd like to see pics and read your stories.

This is a Hunt I'd like to book one day myself.

I have hunted many times in Alaska for moose and caribou.  I have tried to figure out were that river is.

A few folks have done that hunt.  Found the cabin that Glen and Fred and the rest of the gang used.  Believe they wrote a story about it for Trad Bowhunter a few years ago.  Cam't remember who it was. Maybe Mike Mitten and/or one of his brothers.  Perhaps Steve Hohense (sp?), who is an Alaskan.  Don't know.

I remember reading that article. There was someone occupying the cabin at the time if I remember it right. I do not know who the author was.

I read it also. They found a pair of Freds boots in the rafters.

The Little Delta River drains into the Tanana (pronounced Tan-in-aw)River south of Fairbanks/west of the town of Delta.

I went in by snogo about 10 years ago in January or so to hunt moose. We were near the mouth, not further up the drainage where the cabin is/was. I probably have some pics but would have to dig for them. We came out early as the machines were acting up. Most of 3 feet of snow and minus 20-something temps.

The article was in the Oct/Nov 2001 issue of Traditional Bowhunter written by Joe St. Charles. Infact, I have a copy of that publication signed by Glenn St. Charles which I bought in his archery shop in Seattle.

Bows on the Little Delta is one of the best, if not THE BEST, bowhunting books I've ever read.

I have heard of that book for many years, but, foolishly, have not read it. That needs to go on the Things To Do List for sure.

Definitely one of the best, but you just bought what I consider to be "The Best" from Terry.

Spent an evening with Glenn, Jay, & Joe many years ago at Denton Hill/ETAR.  Glenn told story after story...probably the most memorable night of my traditional bowhunting experiences...tippit

Found this reference online showing the maps of the area.  Shouldn't be to difficult to go from there.
