What ever happened to burlap targets?

I'm a little old fashion and cheap I like 3d targets, But loved the old ames burlap targets. I just can't seem to find them or any like them. They lasted a long long time and for the price of a 3d you could have an entire rang filled with different targets. I might just have to raid the local coffee shops old bean bags and with a sharpy and spray paint start making my own.

Morrell still makes a nylon/polyester mix type face target......some of them get a little pricey for a printed target....last a long time and are tough....

I remember those haven't seen one in a long time. Those big plastic mesh bags they bag corn in at produce stands works pretty good. Stuff it tight with hay or pine straw maybe some card board in the center. You could probably by bags of that type online some were.

There are a few on Fleabay. Look for Ames all weather targets, or Ames burlap archery targets.

From what I read here or? the company lost one of their most important employees. Production stopped but was supposed to start up agian? Wish it would.
The range where I shoot (Ben Avery) outside of Phoenix uses those Morrell target faces on one of the animal courses. Yes, they do last but the make up of the material makes it a pain to pull arrows with any kind of lip on the back of point. Like wood arrows. Those carbons with the inserts that are not flush with the shaft are a pain as well. I know moan and groan but after putting the faces back up after pulling arrows gets old quick.

In my target shooting days, I bought a new Saunders 4 footer every year. They were my favorite for aluminum arrows.

I make my own.
Just get Burlap bags from the feed store and stuff them with plastic grocery/Wal-Mart bags.
They stop arrows like magic.

The bags are around $3 each and the grocery bags are practically free.

If you have a fancy coffee shop that does their own roasting they often have big bags for sale.

They are an awing company but make these on the side. Stuff them with old screening or plastic sheets.

Three Rivers has them as "U-Fill It", but I thinks it's the same.

I got a burlap feed sack stuffed with old pillows that my wife was gonna throw away. I stuffed 3 bed pillows down in the sack, took some effort to get three of them in there but managed to get`em in. Stops arrows cold in their tracks, I use it inside my basement for cold-wet weather shooting practice.
