9 Shocks

I have been hunting a small 12 acre piece of ground for the last 8 years and have seen some real dandy bucks on it but never could quite seal the deal.  The property was logged 2 years ago and the woods became much more open and the deer changed their travel routes.  Well this year I decided to draw them out of the thickets and cedars by using a buck decoy.

It is still Missouri gun season but I was determined to shoot a buck with the stick.

This morning at 750 this buck came in to beat up on the decoy.  He was slightly quartering to but at 22 yards the arrow struck him behind the shoulder.  Complete pass through and he went 70 yards.  He is a 9 point and I am a happy hunter.
