For the guys who remember the original kwikee kwivers, does anyone still use them?  I see they have updated the hood, just wondering how good the new hood design is.

I always liked the "old school" ones from the 80's that were black with the Running Deer logo on the hood. Not bad quivers either. I'll probably shop around to find one to put on my Warf bow that I'm building this winter.

I am talking even older, lol.  The ones from the sixties that were two piece and clamped on the limbs.

Brings back memories...!! (Not ALL good, lol) Seems like everyone was using them, back in the day... The hood worked GREAT! Untill you needed that last arrow!? Lol
They filled the bill, cheap & effective... Some folks got hurt, some badly, but that was back in the days before Lawyers and "Product Liability Lawsuits"... A man was responsible for his own actions, and he excepted that! I cut myself a few times, though thankfully never badly. Yup, those were the days...

Woodchucker, you crack me up.  But apparently the new hood has been redesigned.  I was always careful because I was a teenager and my quiver was a hand me down without the hood.  I didn't know better. lol  
I have always liked the quiver itself and thought it was very solid.  I may get a new one, they are inexpensive and I can modify the hood if I have to.

I have one somewhere - with the separate hood that clips on a shaft.

Do not use it, however.

I used the 80s version a lot back in compound shooting days - had an extra bracket mounted on the side of my climbing stand so I could take the quiver off the bow and snap it on the side of my stand once I got set.

I still use one of the ancient two piece types. I gave the hood away to a fellow on here that needed one.

I only use it for small game hunting or stumping to carry Judos or blunts. Works pretty good for that. I wouldn't consider one for broadheads even with the hood.

No, I quit using it when I stabbed myself in the thigh. IMO, a total piece of crap. I do not recommend them at all.

Ah, Ok, those old 2-piece quivers. I've got a couple laying around in my archery pile somewhere. I agree with the above posts...they are dangerous, at least the old ones were. I haven't heard anything about a new hood.

My issue with them is that there are 2 grippers, making removing the arrows smoothly and quickly quite difficult.  And I don't like the adjustability, or lack thereof, of the fasteners that attach to the limbs.  Just too many good, lightweight, adjustable & affordable quivers out there, for me.

Sam McMichael were you using a hood when you got injured?  Like I said when I was a teenager I had one without the hood, hell I didn't even know they made hoods for them till I was 35.

Today's "traditional" gang, needs to stop & think how limited our options were, back in the 60's & 70's...
The "internet" wasn't even thought of, let alone a "personal computor"... Your choices were limited to the local sports/hardware store, or one of the catalog companys. There was no such thing as a "custom" bow. You bought & used what you could find, that best fit your needs... In the 80's when the compound craze started to hit, you started to see more "accessories" become available. However... Most required that you drill holes in your bow! (Which is why you see many fine old "collectable" bows with holes in them) Would you even CONSIDER, drilling holes, in your new custom bow???

We were "BowHunters"... We did the best we could, with what we had...!!
