I have an opportunity to buy 300 acres in southern WV and its a bow only county for 35+ years. And this will be 4 hunters max per week ,close to a nice hotels,  and Trad only. Recurve, longbow, selfbow. I live very close to the area. All hardwoods and many trails. Just thinking about it.

Rough Run

I grew up in that area, and was just a lad when the state took it from closed to archery only.  Some fine deer, and deer hunting there, now.  Having a chance at 300 acres in that area is a rare thing, these days.  I'm sure you'll love it!

Any black bear or turkey on the property? Sounds like a great opportunity!

I'm  not far from that area. Live in KY. I'd be interested  for a week depending on the price for next year.

There is Turkey's,  black bear , some hogs not very many, some of the biggest bucks in WV come from this area . And soon Elk but it will be a while on Elk. But over run with black bear and deer.  I have been on the property a few times going back tomorrow and may put in an offer.  Im just wanting a place of my own and let my trad brothers enjoy a piece of the pie.

How much do out-of-state licenses cost?  This sounds like a great opportunity.

If there is any way you can afford it do so.  They aren't making land anymore.

Dont pass up a good offer.  Many of us would be extremely envious of 300 acres of good hunting land.  Id be happy with 5 little acres in a good location.
