Good luck gents.

Looks like I'm done until after Thanksgiving. Heading up to Nebraska for work next week until the day before Thanksgiving.

Hope y'all had some good luck this weekend. Deer were moving everywhere at my camp. White oaks were finally starting to drop and the deer are starting to find em. Plots are covered up with tracks but I haven't seen but a couple scrapes and no fresh rubs. Guess it's a little too soon.

We had camp meeting at church this week and weekend so my hunting was limited.

What little I did was the same, zero action!

By this time last year I had seen 11 deer on the private land and had taken a Buck and Doe.

I have seen no deer from a stand or ground blind so far this year, very unusual.

The land holds deer, and theres plenty of sign just can't figure out whats up.

I'm hunting same areas as the past, playing the wind etc... but the deer are just a lot smarter then me this year.

Congrats. Hope you kill a hundred more of those nasty jokers. We don't have em where we are. Thank goodness

Buddy of mine was the only one at camp this am. Saw 7 and got a doe. Great mornin for us cause most of the time we may see 1 or 2 or none. Hope y'all had success this weekend. I didn't see a thing yesterday am but did find a spot I think I can kill one on the ground with my ghillie and my 45# little river. Lord knows I gotta get close to kill one with my Longbow. Lol

I haven't been out much yet, killed the doe opening day and a small 6pt in late October. I'm hoping to get my pre-rut scouting in this week and hang a few stands, set a couple of blinds.

I'm still up in Nebraska until Wednesday. Flying home Wednesday. The wife is picking me up at the airport and we are heading to Louisiana to be with family for Thanksgiving. But, come the weekend, I'll be in a tree... or on the ground... somewhere in the woods!

For Joebuck, he has killed two really nice bucks the last couple days!

He posted pics on the Mississippi forum.

Hoping he see this and adds the pics here as well.

Fantastic !!  Congrats to him. I had a couple pics of chasing on my camera from last week but just two year olds getting excited. Lol. Was glad that most of my pics were daytime pics and also most were bucks. Promising.

I took this doe last weekend from a new stand location. A 15 yard shot resulted in a short recovery.

OK........you twisted my mouse South MS.!!!
Cliff notes;  Buck chasing doe under my stand. Missed him at 7 and he trotted to 17yds looking out in woods ( those Silver Flames XXL are loud and confusing when they hit a muscadine vine). 2nd arrow pinned wheeled at 17. Pass through high lung. Stand was 10 feet high tuck between a split water oak trunk. According to Gaia app... buck ran 1002 feet.  Blood trail solid from impact spot.. blood out entrance and exit and nose dropping. Hot doe stayed around me for 90 minutes after shot...poor girl....grossed 165" 240lbs and 5.5 years old.. 6x5......

Great buck Joey and appreciate the story!

What about that wide 7 Point, and we're you in your tree sling?

I need to get to some better woods!  I've seen 1 doe and 2 hogs in a month and a half
